Here's a picture of Lawrence as a puppy. The black puppies in this litter look a lot like him, and I see his wrinkles in Milano :)

Chandra & Caspin BOUNCE!!!

Wallis and SD Caspin came over for a visit today with Chandra. We decided to see if Caspin likes the trampoline as much as Chandra does! Guess what? He does! Wallis did too!

This was also the first time that Chandra was able to play with them, but it didn't last long because even with the t-shirt on the puppies still were able to try and get inside. I'm going to have to think of something else since she likes playing with her babies!

Here are some pictures of the puppies playing outside today..we have a completely fenced yard which is nice to have the puppies play in with supervision of course! They just follow me around :)

I have started crate training the puppies! This is definitely a new step for them. They already sleep in a crate in the puppy room, but the door is removed on that crate. Now, they are in a similar crate, but the door is closed. Hopefully the crate training will not be too stressful and they will get used to it fast so by the time they get to their puppy raisers they are already quiet in their crates, that is my hope! So for the puppy raisers out there, I'm really trying! :)

Here's a video of the babies playing outside today! The rain finally stopped, at least for today..so they had some play time outside. If you hear the sounds at the end of the video it is the CD that CCI gives to Breeder Caretakers (BC), there are babies crying, trains, people talking, alarms, phones, etc. The CD is supposed to try and get them used to hearing other sounds before they leave our house.

Great dog tags

I'm ordering Milano's name tag soon and just wanted to share my favorite site for dog tags, someone shared it with me a few years back and I've been using them for my dog tags since Hiltie, puppy #2!

Boomerang Tags plastic tags are the best! They are quiet and great quality.

NW Graduation

I just got home from a great day at CCI! It was such a nice graduation, 5 of the 11 pups that graduated were from the GRC!! Chandra was also represented well, her puppy Rhianna from Terrell's litter was in the program as being presented as a breeder. Rhianna was not there, Esther the breeding manger said that a few of the girls were in the kennels for breeding, so it sounds like there will be more Chandra grand-puppies soon!

Chandra and Kittredge's NW A puppies turned in. It was so nice meeting Asjha and her puppy raisers, Ayrton was able to visit for awhile before pictures. Ayrton was raised in a Prison in Montana, he is a big handsome boy!! It was so nice seeing all them again. Of course Akeelah was also there, Mary and Matt did a wonderful job with her. It was so much fun watching her grow up!!

Here is a picture of Akeelah and a brick that my friend Ticha bought from proceeds of a basketball camp that she had with money going to CCI. It was the first time I had seen the brick and it was a nice surprise!!

The graduation itself was great!! I came home and gave Chandra a big hug and played with the puppies...it's amazing to think that in 2 years these little puppies could be sitting on stage next to their graduate!

Playtime outside

The puppies had fun today! It was their first real day of exploring outside of the puppy room. They did great and had a lot of fun, now they're all sleeping in their puppy crate.

puppy update

The puppies are growing! They're all over 6 lbs now. Chandra is now completely done with nursing, she has to be happy! The puppies have all their teeth in and they took up a lot of room while nursing. The weather has been a little nicer here so they puppies have been enjoying some time outside. At first they were not so sure what to think, but now they love it and run around the big playset. They're not big enough to go up the slide yet, but they run in the tunnel area. They are learning quickly to sit so they can be picked up. Such a nice litter, we're having a lot of fun with them!!

Everyday is play day for the puppies, but when a new toy is brought into the puppy area there's a lot of new excitiment! :)

New toy

I added a new play toy to the puppy room today, it is a small bridge with a little ramp. The puppies all thought is was great! They all ran to the new play toy and they started climbing on it and investigating their new play structure. We had A LOT of rain here today. Hopefully it will clear up in the next few weeks so the puppies can play outside, but it's going to need to get warmer and stay dry for a few days! I have another play structure that they will get to explore when they get to go outside.

1 month to go..

1 month from now the sweet M's will be turning in to CCI and getting ready for their puppy raisers! We're still looking for most of the M's, so far we know where Milano and Makia are going.

The puppies first taste of food!

Today I started the puppies on their weaning mush. The weaning diet is blended puppy kibble that I mix with water for the puppies. I put the pan down, then called "puppy, puppy, puppy!"..all the puppies ran over to the pan to investigate and then they jumped right in! It's always so much fun to see them with their first meal, something so new to them. They all seemed to enjoy eating the food, then cleaning it off each other. Chandra gets to come in after the puppies have finished and clean up the bowl and the puppies, something she was really excited about :) They puppies are getting so big and they have teeth now! I'm sure she'll be very happy about them being weaned. I weighed the puppies today and they are all over 4.5 lbs, some are even getting close to 5 lbs.

New enviornment

The puppies have moved to their play area in the garage. The floor is non-absorbent flooring for garages and they have their blankets, toys, crate (without a door) and their litter box area. Today I went out to check on them and saw Chandra in the little puppy crate with the puppies cuddled up inside with her, it wasn't because it was cold because I have two heaters set up in the puppy room so they're nice and warm. I think they just liked being close and Chandra hasn't had a crate to sleep in and she's really excited to be able to sleep in one again.
The picture isn't really clear because it is from my phone, but tomorrow I'll get some better pictures.
Tomorrow I'll also take the puppies 3 week pictures. They growing up so fast and they're doing very well!! Such a nice litter!

Interesting things about the puppies

Here are some interesting things about the puppies: They sleep on their back, just like their daddy. Makia is the lightest puppy in color. Milano has wrinkles on her face already. Maura has fluffy hair, but she won't be long haired. Malin has a slender golden like face...all of them have special traits, it will be interesting hearing about them as they grow up!

20 day video

The M's keep growing!

The M's keep growing! It's SO amazing to see the differnces in them in just a few days. A few days ago they were barely moving and now they will walk (almost steady), play, and just look more like dogs. It's so much fun watching them grow and see their changes everyday. This litter likes to sleep on their backs more than other litters, it's so cute. In the picture above it is Makia and Mica and then Makia with Chandra.
