Big news for Chandra's pups!

Well the August graduation for Chandra's pups were pretty good!!

Chandra's very 1st puppy OMARI II graduated as a facility dog from the SW region and she is going to Arkansas with her new partner, we are very proud of her!!

Something very special also happened at the SW graduation. 4 pups from Chandra's 4 litters were at SW. OMARI II, AMYA II, ROXA II and MICHAEL II, it must have been something about the II's ;)

Along with OMARI graduating we also had some other pups going back to CCI for their college eduation..GOOD LUCK to:

Chandra's vacation

Chandra has been having fun while I've been away, I know she's in great hands and that always is a good feeling. I dropped her off again today with friends and she was so excited to see them, it's cute, she sure does remember people that have taken care of her :) Last week when my family was in Chicago, Chandra was home enjoying time with our friends, swimming, playing in the park and going to the Sacramento Monarchs practice facility to hang out with her buddies, she made sure to check on everyone getting treatment, what a good girl!

Fun at the river

Chandra and her puppy Akeelah plus friends Luna (breeder) and Gelsey (COC) went to the river and had a great time!! It was really nice for the dogs to be able to swim and get out some energy and it was also nice for them to cool off in a lagoon off the river.

Ice anyone??

Check out a cool trick Chandra does...she loves ice and we used the "push" command to teach her "ice" a new command that she even does on her own now :)

OMSI update

OMSI's first litter with Brynna was born on July 11, 2008. There are 7 puppies 4 girls and 3 boys, the puppies tentative names are:
Nuri, Namiko, Nico IV, Navarro II, Naelyn, Nevada IV, Nanette IV.

OMSI is being bred to Ember (50/50 BLGX) for his 2nd litter! How exciting :) They might have black fluffies!! Ember is a very sweet girl, she was in Chandra's class and went through training with her. This will be Ember's 4th litter. Here's a photo of Chandra and Ember when they came home from advanced training in 2006.

Chandra's puppy updates..

Two puppies from Chandra's "O" litter with Blaze III are rotating into Team Training next month!! How exciting :) The pups are Omari II (SW)& Oasis II (NE). We're wishing them, their puppy raisers and future graduates the best of luck!!

Puppies from the "R" litter should be turning in starting next month, depending on the region the pups will either turn in to CCI in August or November.

The "A" puppies seem to be growing fast and hopefully are learning well and being good for their puppy raisers :)

The "M's" have been with their puppy raisers for about 3 weeks now and hopefully they're doing well!!

In other news OMSI's first litter with Brynna was born on July 11th. This is a golden retriever litter, there are 4 girls and 3 boys and this is the "N" litter.

Chandra's trip to Lake Tahoe

Now that Chandra's puppies have gone to their puppy raisers she can be just a dog again and she loves it! We just got back from Lake Tahoe and Chandra had a great time swimming in the lake and playing with her best buddy Magic. She's so exhausted from all the swimming she did, she rolled around in the sand and had a great time!!

The "M" puppies are on their way..

We made it to CCI in a little under 2 hours, the puppies thought it would be nice to sing to me for the entire trip!! Other than the screaming everything went well, there were no accidents in the crates and the kennel staff at CCI was very happy to see them. There's nothing cuter than Golden puppies :) The puppies played in the CCI puppy park for about 30 minutes before going into their kennels, they will have their vet checks, tattoo's and then be on their way to their puppy raisers starting tomorrow. CCI was very nice and they were able to do McKenzie's vet check and tattoo so I could bring her home to her puppy raiser tonight instead of them making the trip tomorrow. Here are the regions for the puppies: Malika-SE McKenzie IV-NW Maverick- SE Michael II-SW (I asked about his name since he is named after a donor, Michael was named after another CCI SD. The lady that named him raised a lot of money in the Human Race that was held in Santa Rosa and this is a name that she requested for a puppy). Chandra is home!

Chandra came home yesterday from Peggy's house where she and the puppies were since the puppies were a week old. I know Chandra had fun at Peggy's house, she loves swimming and they have a pool there that she would get to swim in, I know she's going to be excited when she gets to go back to visit :)
Today I took her to a pond to swim with her best friend Magic, they had a great time and after they both got baths!!

Update on the M's

M puppy update

This weekend Randy's puppy raiser came to visit the litter all the way from North Carolina along with Randy's breeder caretaker. It was a lot of fun getting together with them and playing with the puppies. They are all so sweet and light in color, they get that from Randy. McKenzie (blue collar) is especially light and she's big! She got that from her daddy! Chandra is a small girl weighing in at around 50 lbs, I Randy is closer to 85 lbs, but he is tall and lean.

Ontaro

Chandra's puppy and OMSI's brother Ontaro was released from CCI, but sound like he'll be doing great things as all CCI dogs do :)

OMSI's day of swimming!

OMSI LOVES to swim! The only problem is that he's not a very strong swimmer ;) He really doesn't get the concept of swimming yet, but he loves it so much! So we put on his doggy life jacket from Ruffwear.com and OMSI enjoyed his day of swimming. It's funny because OMSI's mom (Chandra) and dad (Blaze III) both needed swimming lessons even though they loved it too!

Puppy Update

The puppies are 28 days old now and SO cute! I went to visit them today and the set up is so great, they have a fun play area, kennel, beds, toys and a litterbox area.

"M" Names

We have names!! These are not official until the puppies turn in, but they will most likely be their names:

MALIKA- (MA-LEE-ka)
MCKENZIE IV
MAVERICK-named after the character in Top Gun
MICHAEL II- donor name (and the only name I didn't submit)
MONARCH II- SO excited about this name!! She is named after the Sacramento Monarchs and the litter was born on Opening Day! www.sacramentomonarchs.com
MARI - (Mar-E)
MEEKA - puppy #7 just like Omeeka from Chandra's "O" litter, Meeka was one of Omeeka's nicknames.

OMSI's name

You might be wondering why OMSI's name is alway capitalized, there is a reason :) OMSI's name stands for the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry. OMSI is actually OMSI III and when about 15 years ago now the museum sponsored a puppy and that puppy was a golden retriever who CCI named OMSI. OMSI was chosen as a breeder and was CCI's top Golden Retriever breeder and was retired after his litter with Guide Dog Natalie, this was Chandra's litter so Chandra was OMSI's very last CCI puppy!! When Chandra had the "O" litter on July 15, 2006 I knew we had to submit the name OMSI after the first OMSI and Chandra's dad. CCI named OMSI III and we were so happy :) OMSI's puppy raiser took OMSI to the museum and took this very cool picture of OMSI with his namesake building.

Gold Rush Champions Annual Golf Tournament- September 22, 2008

The GRC Annual Golf Tournament will be September 22, 2008 at the Granite Bay Golf Course. Over the 8 years of the tournament the GRC tournament has brought in $370,000 for CCI!!! It's always a great event! Hope to see you there :)

OMSI & Sanaa's Play Day

OMSI & Sanaa had a play day today and they both had a lot of fun!! As you can see from the videos and pictures, OMSI tried to get Sanaa to calm down, but she's definitely still a puppy!!

Who is this??

Meet Sanaa a PUGGLE!! :) She's SO cute!! We'll be helping out with Sanaa so there will be a lot of pictures of her I'm sure! She was born on March 17, 2008 in Arkansas and came home with our friend on May 21st. We're hoping that Sanaa will stay around 17 lbs so she can fly with her mom in the plane! Right now she's only about 4 lbs. She's a calm puppy when you hold her and she'll fall asleep in your arms, but put her down and you can definitely tell she's a puppy ;)

Update

Chandra and her puppies have moved over to Peggy's house for the remainder of their time in Sacramento (the puppies turn in to CCI on July 9th). This is a huge help for me since my summers are really busy! I'll still be updating the blog and pictures. Last week I submitted names to CCI, so when I get them back I'll post them (the names won't be official until they turn into CCI, but things rarely change after the names are assigned).

OMSI has been enjoying his time with me :) We went on a 3 mile run yesterday, he's still learning how to run with me on my rollerblades, but he's getting it and he really seems to like it! Today we watched my sister play tennis in the backyard and he had a great time playing fetch with me and making his own agility course with our stairs/planter box, I wish I had it on video, but I'm sure he'll do it again. My dad told me a funny story about OMSI last night. While I was at a friends house OMSI was home with my dad and in our media room he said OMSI found 3 toys that had been buried in the couch, 1 was even over the backside of the couch, but OMSI was on a mission to find all of them!! He's been a great boy, soon as the weather in Sacramento gets a little better I'm going to take him swimming :) Maybe even tomorrow!

"M" Pups udate

The M's are doing well! This is such a nice, quiet group of puppies. They've been very easy and Chandra is a fantastic mom, she takes such great care of her puppies and it really makes my job easy!! Individual personalities can already be seen in the puppies, I can't wait until the open their eyes and start moving around a little more :)

7 Healthy CCI Puppies have arrived!!

Chandra had 7 healthy puppies today!! She started at 12:01 pm and ended at 3:12 pm! GOOD GIRL!! She has 5 girls and 2 boys (just as a predicted on the 8th ;) It's also the same as her 1st litter! I'll be attaching pictures of the puppies soon!
